Samarra victory boosts morale for Iraqi forces
Although the Iraqi forces defeated Samarra, local residents were upset about the death toll. Out of the 70 dead brought to Samara General Hospital, 23 were children and 18 were women. Another 160 people were wounded. On Sunday there was even more commotion in the usually calm city of Samara as U.S. and Iraqi forces searched for rebel holdouts. American soldiers searched civilian homes for insurgents and weapons. Since the initial attacks Friday morning, most electricity is out, but water service has resumed. A few grocery stores are open, but most businesses are closed. The residents of Samara used time this weekend to bury the dead and clean up the collapsed buildings. More bodies are being recovered from these buildings. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6095119/
