Rutgers Player Suspended on Guilty Plea
Shalicia Hurns, Rutgers basketball player pleaded guilty to punching and tying up her roommate over an argument about pain killers. Hurns could possibly face up to five years in prison if convicted of these charges. Hurns is a fifthe year senior and the team's leading rebounder. She attacked her roommate Kelly Evans, a junior soccer player and threatened to kill her. Kelly was held for five hours by Burns and during that time Burns wrote all over her with a marker. Evans left the soccer team and does not plan to return until the spring. Burns is not to have any contact with Evans and is required to have a mental health evaluation.
