Effects of Age-Old Diet Long-Lasting
An age-old diet may be the answer or substitute for the fountain of youth. A new study shows that a Mediterranean-style diet along with exercise and a little alcohol increases the lifespan of people. Researchers first looked at the diet which they found a 23 percent reduction in deaths. Then they looked at the advantages of a little alcohol and exercise in which they found a reduction in deaths as well. Combined together, researchers saw a 65 percent reduction in overall deaths. Unlike the Atkins diet which drops the pounds right away, the Mediterranean diet maintains a stable weight and then slowly loses the pounds over a longer period of time. Another contrast of the two diets is that many people don't stick with the Atkins diet for more than a year, whereas the Mediterranean diet is something that everyone can stay on for a lifetime. So, for those who want to live longer and healthier, the Mediterranean diet is the way to go.
