Extinction Looms Over Larger Species

This article was very interesting in the fact it gives a complete explination on why most of the animals on the top of the endagered list are large preditors. Before humans romed the earth, large preditors were already having a hard time surviving. This is because a preditor grows larger it has to go after game larger than itself in order to get enough energy. This causes the animal to become specialzed for killing a praticular prey. This is very beneficial for a while, but if the environment changes the large animal has no way to adapt. Although today this is not the only factor. The combination of humans and the climate changing is causing severe dificulties for large preditors. It is interesting that the largest preditors are actually the most vaulnerable.
