Court Case Over Australian Shooting

A 35 year old man shot a 47 year old man after allegedly losing a fight at a neighbor's house. Marcus William Phillips made an appearance in the magistrate court in Melbourne Australia with head wound and posted no bail. He will remain in custody until a mental health commitment. Phillips and the unnamed man got into an arguement at a friends house which led to a fight. Phillips, having lost the fight, then shot the victim as he crossed the street.

It sounds to me like the court system is a lot like the one in America. Although, in America, it is most likely that the mental health insanity plea wouldn't fly whereas in Australia, this guy is going to be committed soon.
