Bin Laden not in Afghanistan

According to this article, Osama bin Laden is no longer in Afghanisan, due to the large amount of international troops there looking for him. Bin Laden is, of course, the head of terrorist organization Al Qaida, the group supposedly responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Instead of residing in Afghanistan, the article rumors that he is instead just outside the border in Pakistan, though American troops have no idea where to locate the man. The article also discusses circulating rumors of bin Laden's poor health, the lack of new information of any kind about him, as well as briefly touches on the fact that there has been a resurge of insurgents in parts of Afghanistan.

It's suprising how long it's taken everybody this much time to find bin Laden, especially considering that he was the one who allegedly planned the attacks that killed so many Americans. Did the United States government give up this hunt too soon?
