ANTI-terror police force created in Scotland

Scotland has created the "Tartan Special Branch" to combat terrorism in Scotland. The special force has 250 people and is headed by John Corrigan. Until now anti-terrorism forces in Scotland have been under special branches in London. The growing number of extremists and recruiting in Scotland ultimately convinced leaders that Scotland required its own force. A senior police oficial in Scotland said, "This is the setting up of a Special Branch for all of Scotland, and it is a direct result of the attacks down south and the new heightened risk of terror attacks in the UK."
