Transportation workers get ID upgrades
The Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) released plans to develop a new ID system for employees. A new card will contain various forms of identification, a fingerprint for example, to prevent unauthorized users from accessing secure sites. These new cards will allow TSA employees to access different buildings with only one card instead of multiple cards for multiple locations. This plan will be used in 34 locations in 6 states over the course of 7 months. This is only a prototype and will be reevaluated when it is completed.
