Making Education an Issue

In an attempt to bring Education into the spotlight of the upcoming election, The National Education Association, the NAACP's National Voter Fund, MoveOn.org and other organizations have created the National Mobilization for Great Public Schools. Right now, the issues primarily being focused on by the candidates are the war in Iraq and the economy, but the newly formed committee hopes to bring education into the forefront. The first major event the committe will hold takes place on Wednesday and consists of 3,800 house parties to encourage parents, teachers, and school officials to talk about educational issues, get involved, and vote.
