El Salvador volcano kills two

The Ilamatepec volcano in Palo Campana, El Salvador's largest volcano erupted for the first time in a century on Saturday. Thousands of people fled their homes and two have died as the volcano erupted and hot rocks, ash, boiling water, and a 10 mile-high smoke plume rose into the air. The two people killed dies in a landslide near the crater of the volcano. There is real devestation in the area. Some people have lost everything they had. El Salvador's government decalred a red alert and evacuated more than 4,000 people the previous afternoon that saved many lives. The volcano is located 40 miles from the capital of El Salvador and stands 7,800 feet above sea level. The volcano recently became more active after being dormant since 1904. There is also some damage done to the coffee industry since many of the trees have been burned and the area around Ilamatepec accounts for a large chunk of El Salvador's coffee output.
