Obese Man Drops More Than 370 Pounds

A former restaurant manager, Patrick Deuel had a heart condition and other medical problems that led to weight gain. He eventually toped out at 1,072 lbs and was admitted on June 4th to the Sioux Falls Hospital. Through help of the hospital and other forms of therapies dealing with exercise, Deuel dropped 370 pounds and is now in the process of moving to another hospital location. The exact date is unknown, but a room is being created to accommodate him. Deuel's goal is lose enough weight in order to have gastric bypass surgery which is a type of stomach stapling. He wants people to know of his condition, so others find hope and know that there is help out there. He also wants to address and draw attention to the lack of financial and medical resources available for people his size.
